Need to renew the residence permit/z-visa from the us. Can you do it if you are a Thai citizen? What documents do you need?

RENEWING RESIDENCE PERMIT AND Z-VISA
You will not be able to renew a residence permit from the USA no matter what nationality you are. However, for Z visa, you can obtain a z visa, but it will require the invitation documents from your employer. You can view samples of the official invitation documents you will need at this link: Work Visa For China
You need the original documents, cannot be faxed or photocopied.

I was in a similar situation recently, was not able to renew residence permit, but had to wait for my school to process the SAFEA and PSB documents, then mail them to my home. No problems getting the visa. Just need those docs.
