Hi, I need help urgently now. I live in China since Feb 2007 and I just renew my Residence Permit visa (1 year validation) but next month i will go back to my country for holiday about 3 weeks. During that time I will renew my passport (expired May 2009) coz they dont have Indonesian Embassy/General Consulate in Chengdu so I have to do it in my country. Will it problem in China Custom that I have my new passport but my visa which is still valid in my old passport? Thks.

Does your country allow you to keep your old passport onc you renew it? If so, bring your new passport with you along with your old one to China. You will need to show it at the airport before you board, and also when you enter China. You just need both passports and the residence permit. You may also want to contact your local Chinese consulate in your home country to see if they have any suggestions.
