The scmp in HK reported that visitors visas are going back to normal Oct 16, 2008.
I am patiently waiting for a school to issue documents for the Z visa and had my medical in the states, though two schools I communicated with in Guangzhou and Shenzhen respectively report
that they are able to do the Z visa in China. The school I have chosen is out of this area and is one that I worked for in the past.
These rules are so confusing. Can someone please tell me what is going on at present?
Thanks.

The school in China asked for the original medical exam copy. Do I also need to send this in for my Z visa when they process all the paperwork?
thanks.

hi Gary,

As of today, some of the requirements for regular visas have been relaxed. For example, airfare and hotel confirmations are no longer required.
You do not need an original medical certificate to get the z visa (for consular purposes) UNLESS YOU DO THROUGH CHICAGO.

We process through San Francisco and they do not have this requirement.. Not all consulates operate with the same requirements.

Cheers

Great! When my letters arrive-as this is a school where I worked before-will send to your SF office.
I have family in China waiting, so anything else that comes up, will be looking at your site for details.
Regards,
GP
