My Z Visa expires on the 10th July, as my contract with my company finishes then. My flight is booked to go home on the 16th July and I don't want to sign another contact with the company as they are really bad. I'm currently trying to get another school to organize my next z-visa as i will arrive back in China on the 16th August. Hopefully they can make an invitation letter for me so that i can apply for my next z-visa whilst in the UK. I just need an extra 6 days on my visa.. should I attempt to change it to a tourist visa? Someone told me I can stay after my Z- visa expires as a tourist...Can anyone give me any advice?!
Thanks in advance

You can get a 30 days extension, but you would have to leave after that and it is not likely your new employer would be able to convert your L visa into Z status or residence. Because you are in China there is a different process for this, your new employer would need a stamped letter of release from your current employer in order to transfer your residence.
The only other option is to return home and do the visa process from scratch.
Good luck

Trust me prepare now, ask your school to also help you prepare now, Never ever wait for the last day, I've just gone through this whole visa system, nothing can be done on the last day here, it'll be hard for the school.
Wait a sec, Your school should be the one to handle everything for renewing your visa, all you need to do is sign a new contract and maybe renew your apartment and just have the school submit all of this to the PSB again and your in business for another year.
But tell them tomorrow, Hey lets sign a new contract and get this visa started now! (if your visa is about end soon.)
Good luck. ^^ sooner the better out here.

im really bothered..actually i have signed the contract already,my medical, and everything next move is to go to the exit entry office for the application of the working permit. but i read this one :ENDING EMPLOYMENT
When your employment is terminated or you successfully complete your contract you have 30-days to exit China, renew employment or find new employment. Changing employers requires applying for a new residence permit from your new sponsor. In order to do this smoothly, you should obtain a letter from your former employer that illustrates that your previous contract was successfully completed and you are released from any further obligation. This letter should ideally be written in both Chinese and English and have the official stamp of your previous employer.
IN MY CASE IS THAT I WILL BE RENEWED IN THE SAME SCHOOL.

Ok, two questions to help spread a little light and some more experts can help you answer your question.
1. What is your school or boss telling you? ( they should be the one handling and guiding you through this.)
2. How many days do you left before you have to exit China?
Let us know.

Wow sounds good. Hope this translator was from your school?
Please let us know all these documents they needed and the process you went through to renew your permit.
It will help others prepare for the future also.
Thanks and good luck.
