Dear all,
You must have a Z-visa if you want to teach in China. Some companies in China will issue you with an F-visa (because it is cheaper and easier to obtain); however, this is against Chinese law. A decent Chinese teaching school will assist and pay for you to have a Z-visa. Under no circumstances should you be directly employed by a school on and working on an F-visa.
I would strongly advise you to enroll on a TEFL/TESOL course and achieve a certificate in England; on-line courses will provide you with a certificate (usually at a lower price), but this may not suffice for some learning institutes in China.

yeah.. you could do that.. or like one American.. come and work with primary/middle schoolers without any identification.. I was told he worked in China nearly 6 yrs until his ex-girlfriend turned him in.. quite the drama.. but, he had a good time and got paid too!
