Hello, can anybody help me please! I have a Z visa that will expire on 31 January 2010. I want to stay in china and study chinese. I do not want to work! But because the classes begin in March, and I don't want to leave, I want to know what can I do. I thought that the place where I was planning to study were going to change my visa before it expire, but I was told that they cannot do it. That I will need to get a tourist visa and then in March change it again for a student visa. Some other people told me that I could stay with my current visa for another extra month, but I know it will be expired. Can anybody please give me some advice? Thanks.

How long have you been in China for? It will take a Uni about 20-30 days to apply for the JW202 docs and invitations required to process a X Visa. you will also need to have a current medical. What did you do, come to China with the intent to work and then blow off your empoloyer? hgow did you acquire your present z visa? Have you done any of the resident formalities?

If you blew off an employer, you can pretty much forget about studying in China and will almost certaionly have to return home. It will also be unlikely to get an extension if your previous employer contacted the local PSB, and it wont be possible without a letter of release from your emplyer.

no, no, no. I've been working since February but I will not renew my contract with the university. I'm stll working until the semester fnish. I've been asked to renew the contract but I said no because I want to study. I could stay in chongqing and stay in the same university but I don't like the city, nor the weather, nor the food...
